Not exactly fishing, but for me, equally as fun. Made a four sets today and called two young females in. First day out in 2011, and 50% success ratio on my calling. Probably should quit for the year so I can keep my average up so high

Its too bad the coyote in the grass has mange. Just seem to can’t get rid of that crap around here. Her entire rear end had hair slipping out. At least she won’t be suffering a slow miserable death

Does anyone know specificly how the WI laws are about hunting in the Miss river valleye? I know coyotes run the bottoms a lot and I’ve had them howling a few times while I was fishing over there. I was thinking about packing the 22-250 later in Jan when i head over there. Possibly do a little calling to see if I can get one to come off one of the islands. I’m just not sure how the entire refuge system works.

Save a couple, really get tickled every spring when the pups are trying to yip. Late nites with the bedroom window open makes for some good chuckles jerr

Great photos. I literaly pinned one to a tree with my bow one deer season. I didn’t get a photo of it but I am also glad I made a clean shot. I severed its spinal chord right at the neck so it “dropped” right where I shot it. In hindsight I wouldn’t have tried to do that. Could have ended really bad for the animal but thankfully it was okay. Anyways, great photos. Bummer that one had mange though.

Good job all i’ve called in are crows. I think you can hunt between the tracks as long as you stay on the side of the river of which you live/have a license for. You may want to check with someone that knows for sure just to be on the safe side.

Randy, do you happen to know if there is a market for the fur this year and what the going rates might be?

Just loading up some .243 and .223’s this last week and ready to get out there.

The last batch of coyotes I sold was pretty bad. A lot of them were early and not desirable. $8.00 avg. I held out my best so far hoping the the Feb NAFA sale will go good. I have about 27 or 28 going in. All the coyotes we have taken in the last two weeks are very pretty pelts. Its too bad the coyote in the snow didn’t show up as well to show of its amber color. I might keep that one to tan.
