I see on Craigslist this morning a Fisher V front jon with front steer. Interesting ? What does anyone think about this setup. It is a 93 with a 9.9 merc for $2,800. What is the purpose for front controls. Thanks and Have a safe happy 2011.

Usually see the front stick steer on panfish boats. I am not sure of the purpose but they take up alot less room than the console would.

When i bought my flatbottom it had a front steer lever on it. Mine is an older Ouchita (Sp?) and from what i understand, that was an option on it. I took it out and run it as a tiller now.

stick steering is the ULTIMATE RIVER BOAT.. you are up front, you can see stumps and what not.. its a great one man boat because you are balanced. it runs shallow.. and I would have never changed the rig, if I was running the river most times.. a big lake, maybe different..

and I would buy one in a New York Minute.
