Was taking the FW to work when the guy I was meeting completely lost it and did a 180 into my lane. I hit his right rear quarter panel and took off his tail gate. We did a 180 and landed in a big soft snow bank. No injuries at all just messed up metal. Lost my bumper, fender, door, mirror, window, windshield headlight assembly and of course cool.

I have been working on this thing like a slave for a month, upgrading it and finally had it working like a top. Now I have lost my 4X4 ride in the middle of the worst winter in years.

Thank heaven no one was hurt. The FW did not make it to work but I was able to drive it home and put it in the barn with the tools I have been using for the past month.

    What a bummer.

Well that sucks. Not as bad as Doctor bills.

Watch out for “the other guy” still works.

I can sympathize- – – We came west from Hudson on 94 yesterday afternoon and had some gal do a whoopie in front of us. We came close, took me a little rocking to break the suction on the seat but nothing more than a tow bill for her. I’m totally amazed how she never missed a beat on her cell phone jerr

That is a bummer! Good to hear everyone is alright. It has been crazy driving out there. Had a few close ones tonight on the way home…

but think about this.. Detroit has a million trucks to replace yours.. but not your wife.. this year, I lost an exroomate to a tractor turn over.. trust me, I would bet that Gretchen would love to buy her husband a new tractor instead of what she had to buy instead.. which was a headstone..

be frustrated to the point where you walk into the house and kiss her right on the lips and say.. I AM GLAD THAT YOU ARE HERE..

You betcha, good thing nobody was hurt. Felt sorry for the guy who lost it. He just didn’t have a chance. Really felt bad about it.

Right now, the problem might be the insurance company wanting to low ball me on the truck. I checked the internet and can’t find a truck like it within 500 miles. Diesel crew cab pickups are over the moon. I have to have one to pull the 5th wheel and boat. I got along without a crew cab, but I don’t want to.

Anyway, it is just bent metal so that can be fixed. Lucky for us that big pillow of snow kept anybody from getting hurt. There were plenty of witnesses, but not a one stopped. Others did later, but not the folks who saw it. Luckily, the other guy told the same story to the highway patrol I did, so there should be no question of liability.

Geez Northstar, glad you and all are alright.
Last evening a small car went into the ditch not far from my house. A very nice (caddy)SUV stopped to check and help. Another car came along and ran right into the back of the SUV. Then another ran into that car. Coming the other way was a rear wheel drive pickup, and slide into the front of the SUV that was just trying to be the nice guy in the first place and ended up with his rig just beat to hell. Two tow trucks, a sheriff, and a city cruiser finally arrived on the scene and shut the road down for a while. What a mess out there. Again, thankfully no one was hurt, but lots of wrinkled metal and busted glass & grills….
just got to slow down out there…..

Adjuster coming tomorrow. They are talking total loss and that is just wrong. Windshield, one fender, mirror, bumper, grill, and one headlight assembly. That’s a total loss? No wonder rates are so high.

Probably cheaper for the insurance company to total it rather than repair it…they are not stupid with their own money.
