I have not paid much attention to the tournament world for a couple of Years. Heard the Pwt was no longer in existence but never heard why. I was just wondering.

The PWT pro’s started A.I.M which stands for Anglers Insight Marketing I believe and holds tournaments at across the Midwest like the PWT did. PWT was ( I THINK ) owned by In-Fisherman or sponsered by them. Just like my Walleye In-Sider magazine the PWT is no longer in exsistance

I fished the FLW tour and league tournaments as a co-angler. I see where their tournaments have been reduced in size and dollars because of the economy. I was wondering if it was the same for Pwt or if there was a scandle or some kind of trouble. Thanks

I think there were a lot of things that lead to the demise of the PWT. One of which was the prizes. A lot of people felt they got a better bang for the buck with the FLW. The FLW came out and had better contingency prizes, better payouts and cash prizes for co anglers.

The PWT tried to move forward by creating the super pro series, which was pretty cool but a little to late. I for one wish they would’ve made it, they were the organization that most of us started following. The good news is most big names are now involved with AIM.

AIM is doing some really cool things like the catch record release system, gps tracking etc…. They also try to hold their tournaments in conjunction with local festivals. The co angler’s position is a little different than in the PWT and FLW. You don’t fish for prizes but 10 co anglers get drawn for prizes.

There are gift bags for co anglers that can be pretty good also. I’ve heard pretty good things about being a co for AIM.

I’m not a tourney guy, but if I was, I would be fishing AIM!

The catch measure, photo and release is MUCH better for the fish!

There was a changing of the guards that owned In Fisherman and that new company did not have running tournaments as part of it’s plan. Plain and simple. No conspiracy, nothing. Just plain old every day business operations as usual.

AIM got started after this happened.

If you are fishing as a co I feel you should be fishing to gain knowledge and/or to have fun. If you think you are such a great stick please sign up on the big dog side and see watcha really got…. You may be pleasantly surprised that the old boys/girls that have played this game a while put their pants on one leg at a time just like yourself.

Now if you want to talk about the unfair playing field, well that could take me hours to type up…

My opine, not that you asked for it, you might have better luck and more fun at the poker tables in Vegas. That way when things go south you can order a double and not break any rules.
