So it looks like we may do the TX inlaw road trip, any must see/do’s between the Twin Cities and Fort Worth? Think twin 9 year old boys, that includes everyone except mom. Don’t even say go a little east and hit the corn palace, just don’t. Thoughts? Thanks. CZ

Mid America Air Museum is pretty cool. That may be a little too far out of your way though. Liberal, KS

If you need to eat, there is a place in Missouri called lamberts cafe. The food is GREAT. They come around and toss HOT rolls to you. It don’t matter if your on the otherside of the room, they still toss them. Alot of the food is all you can eat, so if you order a giant steak and you eat it all, they will bring you another. Have a safe trip

Corn Palace was one of the worst things I was forced to go see as a child. Spare the little fellas

Cabela’s in Kansas city Kansas was worth stopping at, they have a warehouse sized room full of state record deer mounts (replica) from around the states. That was kind of cool

Darwin is a little out of the way for a trip to TX.

The Kennedy assassination tours…if you feel your youngsters might enjoy a little history.

Been there, and yes, I liked it better than the corn palace!

Thanks guys! That’s a start. The last time I did this was when the boys were around a year old, that was basically point her south down 35 and hit the go button. This time I assume they’ll want to stretch the legs a bit, still considering an overnight or not at this point. I’ve done the 35 run so many times kidless I wasn’t sure if I was missing anything exciting for them or not.

Where’s that giant fry pan at? IA somewhere?

If you do Springfield BPS try Andys frozen custard is a must do.There a 3 or 4 in town. For quick lunch in town there is a BBQ place east of the store across the street that kicks .I’ve not been in the Outdoor museum in a while but thought it was kind of a joke the last time I was there.Lamberts is in Ozark south of town.If you want to wow your wife Hemingways in BPS.at one time had one of the top chefs in the country. My brother taught at SWMSU for 30 years been there several times.Try to miss rush hour it can suck.Sunshine off of 65 is usually the best way in watch out if it snows very few plows and even less people that can drive in snow.Came over a hill on 44 in a snow storm to find a road grader plowing the interstate 25 mph. Have fun be safe

Don’t emember if this is on I35 or even near there but there used to be a McDonald’s restaurant (is that the right word?) that spanned the highway on the way to Tulsa OK. Kinda cool for the kids.
