For those of you have given up hunting because “you got too good”… I will then assume you ended it hunting Rams in the Mountains with a re-curve… I am sorry, but if things become to easy… then you need to switch things up a bit. If rifle hunting becomes too easy… grab a bow in December and see how easy it is

This post kind of goes along with an earlier one of the “stages of a fisherman”.

I get bored easily, I really do. All through my childhood, high school, and college years… I would take up a new hobby or sport and then move to something different a couple years later. Right now I’m feeling this way at my job and thats not good.

One great thing I’ve found with fishing and hunting is their is plenty of variety to go around. When I start to feel like its getting boring or I’m missing something, I try and figure out how to switch it up.

For 5 years in a row probably, I was on the ice every single weekend from early Dec to April. I lived for it!! Not such a priority for me anymore. Actually open water has taken over. Open water used to be very casual, then I learned about catfishing which consumed me for another 5 years and now I’ve really become interested in walleyes and muskies to a lessor extent although I know they will continue to grow on me.

Different species, different techniques, different locations… really hard to get bored if you mix it up and open yourself up to those other opportunities.

Bottom line is try something new and different.
