Saw -19 on my drive to work in Winona this morning. I hope the snow is not keeping this cold from making some ice.

I fished a backwater in Winona today…It appears that a lot of the snow blew off the ice with the high winds we had, and MOST of the snow became slush which froze completely solid and the ice is now smooth and vulnerable to extreme ice making conditions! I kid you not, where I was today there is now over a foot of ice thanks to the probably 5-6″ of new ice that was formed by the freezing slush. The fish were biting too
