Sorry you can’t see the difference between the bridge and the dome. Anyway those who want it, pay for it and stop trying to spend other people’s money.

I am guessing both boost the economy… in one form or another ??? Is that right ??? I am also guessing, I can “choose” to use the dome, much like I can “choose” to cross the river on I35 ??? I have been to the other side from other bridges, I would call it conveinent when I am near it, not a necessity…… I am for a new stadium and against paying for a new stadium…??? Wouldn’t everybody have that stance ??? Majority will/should rule

Fact is… if the Vikes leave… there will be HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS lost in revenue for MN. Major League Sports contribute, in a BIG WAY, to the MN Budget. Just think… a lowely staff member on the MN Vikings Payroll contributes as much as YOU do in state payroll taxes. Now… think of how many employees they have… pretty comparative to a large corporation (you can basically compare the MN vikings to a major corporation… with payroll, jobs, etc). There will be a HUGE hit to the state tax accrual if they leave.

I am conservative… so I am all about paying less taxes. But the fact remains that if the Vikes leave, there will be MANY minnesotans out of a job or with less revenue for their small businesses, not to mention the income tax loss of the entire Vikings Organization and players.

Now, if we can all get past the “I am not paying for a stadium” and realize that, one way or the other, with the lost revenue of them NOT being here, we will eventually pay MORE tax with them leaving…. We should start being constructive and start negotiating how a new stadium could be built and minimize the tax payer hit.

How about gambling? A State Casino or lottery funds going to a stadium mixed with a minor grant from the state congress from taxes?

NO matter how we do it… it needs to be done. Regardless, we will feel it either way. If they leave, there will be a hole in the budget. If they don’t and we need to pay for it, there will be a hole in the budget.

We heard the argument for the Gophers stadium.
We heard the argument for the Twins stadium.
We will hear the argument for the Vikings stadium.
Financially it won’t make sense, period, ever, never in anybodies lifetime.

Now if you want a stadium so we can look at Iowa and Nebraska and say “look at us, we have a NFL team.” then build it. But it will be only a ego thing not a financial thing.

Wanna use the payroll tax argument? Give 1 billion dollars to 3M or Cargill and see what they can do with it over a 30 year period.
