Drive to Cabo San Lucas

    So I am getting married in Cabo in Feburary. I have this thrill seking buddy who wants to drive to Cabo from St. Paul, MN. I am thinking about this. My girl is convinced he will not make it. I am just looking to see if you dudes have any stories or words of advice for Luke. I insist he does not drive but he says hes got it locked. What do you think?

    I would make sure to pack some heat. You never know what you might run into. This is not a joke!

    I would recommend that he takes a flight.

    I think the first question is why?

    Second question, have you been watching the news about Mexican Drug Cartels and murder?

    Third, does he have a car that can be considered reliable. Long way in Mexico with no service areas.

    Finally, does he understand how far it is away – by car? It will be about a 12 day drive. 6 down and 6 back.

    What is he friggin nuts ? friend of mine is a Border Patrol agent in San Diego, its real bad in some areas across the border and open season on americans, tell him to fly and if he’s in the wedding party have a backup he may not make it.

    Thought I better mapquest this one. Check it out. Part of the directions have you on a Ferry! 60 hours 26 mins. 2501.58 miles.

    my parents drive too their condo south puerto vallarta every year. they say if you stay on the main highways and very public places it is not bad at all…… but my opinion is get a plane anyway.

    Doesnt seem like to big of deal to me. A little planning and should be good to go. When we have been down to Ixtapa there are plenty of west coast people and Canadians that drive down there all the time. Isnt Cabo a weekend road trip for people from southern Cal?

    you could also offer to store his boat and his other cool fishing stuff at your house before the wedding…then if he gets a cap popped in his you get all his stuff.
