Woke up this morning to my furnace acting strange, it would cycle as normal but not stay on for what I would consider a normal amount of time, after going downstairs and listening to it a couple times, it dawned on me what might be the problem. I got dressed and went outside to view my vents, the exhaust and cold air return were compltely buried under the drifted snow. I shoveled a huge pile of snow away from both making sure they had plenty of room to breathe and now the furnace is working as it should. Not sure if this would have lead to any CO2 problems in the house because they were buried, but things seem to be good to go now, just thought I’d share this with others to make sure all their inputs and outputs are clear of any snow.

Yes I seen that on Fox 9 last night, went out and found mine plugged too. I am glad I uncovered it last night, it”s nice to wake up to a warm house. Good tip

Yes, this is a very common problem with tons of snow & drifting. I got a call at midnight on a furnace problem and I’m not even a technician! After talking to the owner, narrowed it down to a condensate pump that had quit working. Problem solved and their house is warm.

Yep it happens, scooped mine out at midnight Brrr! 57 degrees in the house was a little chilly. Gonna be get some elbows to run them up the house a little farther. Might look like a submarine, but oh well!

Very good tip. Forgot to look at mine yesterday but the snow is over 3′ deep on the deck right next to the vent. Dont forget to change those filters to.
