From a reliable source,
gas will hover about $3.50
diesel about $4.50
December 2, 2010 at 5:53 pm #914014Hey………that Gulf clean-up wasn’t cheap!
Somebody needs to pay for it.December 2, 2010 at 5:57 pm #914017It doesn’t help that the administration just stopped all new drilling off of our coast. I’m sure the middle east loves this guy.

^^^^^This is correct!
December 2, 2010 at 8:08 pm #914055To be fair, not the entire coast. I believe they are still giving permits for the Alaska coast.

I been paying $3.29 for a month or better. About ready to park the trucks for awhile.
December 2, 2010 at 10:19 pm #914081Man, if there was one thing nice about the economy tanking, it was gas below $2.
December 2, 2010 at 10:49 pm #914086Just filled up the truck this afternoon in Aitkin, MN and it was still $2.75.
December 2, 2010 at 11:46 pm #914096Holiday @ Bayport was $3.04. Paid $2.95 at Fleet Farm in Hudson-what happened to WI paying more gas tax than MN? jerr
December 3, 2010 at 12:41 am #914111Jerr,
Bet it will be higher than 2.95 tomorrow at Fleet Farm in Hudson. It just takes us longer over here to figure out how to raise the prices.December 3, 2010 at 1:33 am #896788Quote:

December 3, 2010 at 2:17 am #914142geuss its gonna be an expensive trip back home for the holidays!! still around $2.40 in wyoming
December 3, 2010 at 1:43 pm #914224Diesel jumped from $3.25 to $3.39 yesterday afternoon here in Princeton. Don’t know what unleaded cost. I just know it’s much better to fill the car for less then $40 then the truck at $115 per fill.
Feeling bad for the semi owners. It’s going to be another long winter for them.

Why? We end up paying for their fuel price increase in a fuel surcharge. It shows up on our invoices every day. They will be just fine. We will have to bear the brunt of it. I feel REALLY bad for the still unemployed who are actually out looking for work and having to pay these jacked prices. Fox Business News says it is because people are getting off their wallets and are investing in oil again driving prices up. It has nothing to do with supply and demand this time around.

You are right when you say they pass it on in a fuel charge. But at some point the bill to the consumers comes due. Consumers at some point back off spending thus creating less trucking opportunities. I know for myself if a load went from $700 to $1000 I will need to seriously look at doing the buy.
As they say, there is no free lunch. Everybody will pay for these increases sooner or later.
BTW, when I mentioned semi owners I was talking about the guys with one or two tractors not the guys with the fleets and national freight accounts
