The ‘ol truck she dont stop as fast on icy roads as those ‘lil cars do. Once I started to slide I knew there was nothing to do but hit the gas and go for the gold (I already had it locked in 4 high), I figured if I held her to the boards I would have got back up on the road but that swamp had other intentions for me. Been a long time since I’ve been buried up to the frame in some slew. After a wrecker bill, a busted mirror and some hurt pride I am home rounding up quarters to head to the car wash and get rid of the mud.

That took some serious skill or luck to get between the mail box and light pole….Every know and then a person needs to head into the ditch to remind themselves of the icy conditions we have here in MN/WI.

Bottom line everyone is ok and not injured…

    Cool! You missed the mailbox!

Glad you’re ok…and that’s no way to take care of your new truck.

I hit about 55 and if I wasnt on the gas I would have never made it as far as I did. You should have seen how shocked the cop was that I made it between the mail boxes and cable box. Just wish I woulda got out on my own I wouldnt feel as bad

I’m snickering, but only because I put mine in with a trailer and a 4 wheeler on the trailer during the freezing rain last Sunday. And get this, going 5 mph around a corner. I had it in 4 high and drove away, but it happened right in front of my dad so no chance for no one seeing it.

But if you’re going to put it in you did a pretty good job.

made for an intersting ride home. Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago and the person I avoided hitting didn’t stop to give me a ride either. Unfortunatly in my case there was a driveway and culvert that I couldn’t avoid but the snow was so deep that it didn’t do any damage. Good to hear that your OK and that the truck made it through pretty good as well.

At least you made it through the uprights! That pole could have done some serious damage. Glad you made it out OK.
