I’ve checked reviews on both. People either love them or hate them because they are a piece of crap. Looks like many of the problems they have are when they try to update the software. Every store has them cheap on Friday and I want to get the better one of the two.

I also researched them lately, and talked to guys with both. Decided on a Garmin Nuvi. Got more features than I needed with the 1350, but for $110 I couldn’t pass it up. Good luck

I don’t know about the Tom Toms, but I was introduced to the Nuvi by Garmin and found it easy for me to use. I’ve got the 1450 for reasons that suited me. Maps that I needed with the features that I wanted and finally the price that I was comfortable with was the final decider, before I made a purchase.

My brother has a Garmin, I have a Tom Tom. What the Heck was I thinking. I’d go with the Garmin.

You’ll get a laugh out of this. I bought a clearance no name model from Radio Schack last year $50. It absolutely rocks! Although it did bring me through the “hood” on a couple routes (lock the doors!) it hasn’t missed a beat. It has turn by turn audible directions, attractions, food, lodging…etc. I am very happy with it.

Boss has a high end Nuvi and has had a lot of problems.

A friend has a Tom Tom for his bike and loves the girls voice

Kids got me a Garmin 1300 last year. Love it. Think they are $99.00 most places tomorrow.
