Only when I looked at things light headlights and street lights.
That is mostly when i see it too, or when I see white writing on a black background on the TV or computer screen, I see “halos” or “ghosting” around the letters.
Do you still have that Jeff, or did it go away?
The halo effect lasted about 6 weeks for me 9/99…. wife never had any halo effect 4/2000 …. both still very happy with the procedure.

Hey Moss, Keep us updated on how you are gettng along. I keep thinkin’ about it.
I had LASIK in 98′. For the first 3 months I noticed a definite glare at night and some halos. After 6 months the halos were gone. I still get some glare at night but no worse than when wearing glasses. I still notice that my eyes get a little dry at times, but I am still completely thrilled with the results. By the way, I had terrible vision, something like 20/400 and astigmatism.
Just an update, still about the same. Hopefully it will clear in a week or so. The glare is kind of the worst at work, with Flour lights, bright white paper, computer screens, etc.
Nice to know it has cleared for others.
Moss, I had it done at the Alexander Clinic in Appleton Wisc, he is the absolute best. I wore bifocals for 6 years and now am 3 years after the surgery and still 20/20. i never had the problems some of my friend had such as halo vision, but there is a 4-6 week period for your eyes to fully heal and rehydrate and your brain to adjust. Follow the doctor’s directions to a TEE…and you’ll do fine.
Moss,
How you doing now?? I just had the surgery on Monday and thankfully don’t have any of the side affects. I’m still “tender” but that’s it. It’s weird not putting on my glasses every day. I see them laying by the sink each morning and think I need to put them on. I still reach up to adjust them occasionally even though they aren’t there. Tell me the brain doesn’t become trained.
Alot of the glare symptoms have cleared, but I still have some problems with it, though I think it has improved, and my brain has gotten used to it some. I have some tear film problems which some of the docs think plays into it.
I have MAJOR problems with floaters since the surgery, had 4 or so before the surgery, and now have like 20 or so in each eye that bug me to no end.
I have some wierd things at night, like sometimes at dusk everything goes very blurry and I find it hard to focus, but that seems to get better as my eyes get more adjusted. When it gets REALLY dark, I have some ghosting and stuff because my pupils are so big.
Overall, my vision was better before the surgery, and I was better off in contacts. If I could go back I would. The floaters are the worst though. they bug me 24/7.
The good news for you is I am one of the few I know that have had problems and most are delighted with thier outcome.
What was your glasses/contacts presciption before the surgery? Where did you have it done?
First off, I’m sorry you are not having a positive experience. I know how precious our vision is.
I don’t recall exactly my prespcription was, but I think my right eye was -1.75 and my left -1.50. I could read up close, but I certainly couldn’t drive without my glasses. I hated putting in contacts, so my hunting/fishing should improve just from this fact. As we all know, wearing glasses is a real pain in the rain or bright sun.
I had my eyes corrected with the baush and lomb lazer at Lasik Plus in Maple Grove, MN. Dr Whiting. I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but I’m just thinking out loud. Have you had a second opinion?? I wish you the best of luck getting this corrected!!!!!!!!!
