And I count myself in that group so don’t feel like I’m pointing fingers here.

Take it slow and easy moving the snow today. I just got done and let me tell you… that is some HEAVY stuff. I believe the ER docs refer to this as “cardiac snowpack.”

Yikes. Hopefully we don’t get too much more. Big branches are starting to come down due to the weight of the snow on the branches. We’ve got part of a pine tree hanging over our fence in the backyard and the neighbors maple tree just lost a big chunk of its canopy. For those that are getting the rain versus the snow you might be better off.

    James,

How much snow has fallen in your area?

    Thanks,

Thanks for thinking of us, James!!! This old guy moved about three in Minocqua and that is all I need to move right now. It is mostly raining now, but they are calling for four more later Sunday. We’ll see what has to be moved then. For now it’s finish work, then to the river to duck hunt tomorrow and back up Sunday night. They are calling for warmer than freezing temps next week, so a slow melt should ensue as well.

    Just finished shoveling,what a morning

Blower didn’t start.. I had the darn thing running and ready three weeks ago!

My well enginered leaf net I had over our Koi pond collasped from the wieght of the snow. Try pulling a 30’x 20′ net full of snow and leaves out of the water.

I’m off to drown my sorrows (back)

On the bright side I Be fisnin in the AM tomorrow

    and Baileys

Just a guess but it looks like 3” – 5” depending on where I look. It is the heaviest, wettest snow I’ve ever seen. If this melts by midweek… the river that was falling steadily is coming right back up. There’s a ton of water sitting on the ground right now.

This early in year I’m on the drive on it and let it melt plan, I hope it works out. On the bright side it’s 70 in the garage and the wheeler is about ready for hard water season. Is there any ice on Rainy yet? IDO should do a group winter trip (hint, hint).

Granrud and I were just talking about this. He’s in the process of looking for suitable accommodations for a large group.

I’m with you. I’m driving on it and then letting it melt. I also like the Rainy idea too.

South Mpls – 5″ and still falling.

Very Heavy – the Dog ran the big Snow Blower and did everyone’s sidewalks – all the way around the city block.

2 – 12 packs, 1 six back and a bottle of wine are at the door.

I think my neighbors appreciate a little redneck help once in a while. if you have the equipment, might as well give it a workout.

Looks like this one will melt – though.

Good job Dog, I did the same thing. I have one neightbor who is recovering from hernia surgery, another one is in the Guard and training this weekend, and another one is pretty old. I suppose we’ve gotten about 5 or 6 inches so far but like James said, this stuff is unbelievable. I have a big 8 HP Toro snowblower and I’ve never had it slow down….until today. I hadn’t thought about what this is going to do to the river again It’s like Mother Nature doesn’t want me to catch a big Walleye this year.

Everybody be careful, take breaks, and drive slow!

    I have a SNOW HERO!

Stopped by with a plow this afternoon while I was picking shad scales of my face in the garage and cleaned out the whole driveway.

    Thank You Snow Hero!!

    Yeah –

My neighbors have to put up with alot living next to me.

First it was the dogs and fishing (in and out at all hours of the day) – Trucks, trailers, buddies showing up, etc.

Then it was the marriage and first born. I have so much plastic that is always in my neighbors yard….that a little fall clean up, snow removal, etc. is just good form on my part.

Plus, most of them are starting to enter some sort of physical failure due to old age.

I like to see the snow fly and I can barely burn a tank in the city.

    Let it snow!!!!!

Seemed like every block around here had at least a fairly large branch or two down in the yards. I also saw a small uprooted tree on Penn and a pine tree nearby snapped in half.

I can’t wait to feel where I’ll be sore tomorrow morning from the shoveling.

Also we were at Petsmart when the power went out. There was a mad scramble for a flashlight, because the vet next door was in the middle of spaying a dog. We waited about 10 minutes for power so we could buy our goods, but no dice. We left and got into the truck and said a little prayer for the doggie.

As we pulled out and went by the front of the store, the lights were back on. So we went back in and bought our things. We also found out the vet was able to finish the job.
