Warm water discharges are typically near power plants as they use the water from the river to cool reactors, also other water discharge maybe found at waste water treatment plants. I am sure other companies also use the river to cool stuff

The one you would be looking for is upstream from the 494 launch about approximately a 1/2 mile or so. It is on the right side as you go upstream. I’m trying to remember what is right by there and I am drawing a blank. Somebody will chime in. Should be some good whitie and smallie action in there.

The water at the Pig’s eye outlet is real warm…almost 98.6 degrees in fact. Picture Caddyshack…and a Baby Ruth.

DD, have you ever caught anything in there? I’ve always been astounded at the concentration of baitfish. I’ve never gotten a bite there.

Whitebass. The other places that can be good are the storm sewer outlets and creeks.

I have been in on a couple of decent bites there. Would bet with this high water that fish where in there. Its the perfect current break. The biggest issue is the barges parking there. Thats money flowing out of that place.

It’s an Awesome flatheading area when the barges don’t chase a person out.

They think they own the river.

We have two operating power plants here in Cassville. Discharges are pretty consistant through the season. You never know what you are going to bring in Through the years I’ve always liked tossing blades around discharges, some world class sheephead can really stack there
Fall shad are really drawn to the warm water……Look for gulls, they’ll let you know

I had fun catching carp on light tackle a couple of spring in there. I need to find some warm water discharge I can fish from shore. Black dog is cold, but the moving water attracts a lot of shad. I know a couple of big storm sewers and 1 next to discharge, but I’ll have to bring a thermometer. I don’t think it pushes much, if any, warm water.
