Our Cedar Valley Walleye Club is having a tourney this week out of Evert’s and looking for a place with good food and an area for approx. 20 people where we can shoot the breeze. This would be for a Friday night. Any ideas would be appreciated.

There used to be a place called Oar Derves. I don’t know if it is still open. Otherwise maybe somewhere in the St James Hotel.

    Good Luck

I was at a b-day party a few weeks ago at the Smokin’ Oak. They have a banquet room in the lower level, steaks and chicken were fantastic

Its just across the river a bit SE of Everets in Hagar City.
I hope BK chimes in for better directions. -Mark

The Bluffs Bar and Grill is the closest with good food and ample room for 20.

They have their Friday Night fish fry and serve off the menu. The buffet area is generally pretty crowded, but there are plenty of tables in the bar area.

To get to the Bluffs, turn left at the top of Everts hill, go to 35 and turn right. About two miles is the 4 way stop signs. Turn left and your there.

With a party of twenty, I would call ahead no matter where you go.

Many of the Pro’s from Everts can be seen sneeking in the back door of the Bluffs. If you stay late enough Shooter, one of the owners might stop by to say hi.

As an added bonus, ask Dean for the “free drink cards”. One per person please.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped at the bluffs with the family, because of recomendations from guys on the site. Maybe they had a bad day or something but other than cheese curds everything else that we got was border line awful even for bar food. I’m not trying to bash the place, hopefully they just had a bad day or the regular cook was off that day.

I have been to the Bluffs Bar and Grill 3 times. The first time was an “emergency”. We were on the way to the Twin Cities and my wife and two boys were hungry. Not a fan of drive thru I remembered of hearing about the Bluffs on IDO. Gave Dean a call for directions and we were able to find it very quickly. Since we were going to meet friends for dinner in the Cities, we ordered just one To GO buffet. We ate it in the car as time was an issue and everyone was happy. The next two time we ate their and had no complaints.

If you are staying at Everts stop in and see Dean he may have a free drink coupon or 2 for The Bluffs bar and grill.

I have been eating at the Bluffs at least once a month if not more and have never had bad food. Mojo you musta been there on a really bad day.

We were there for the Saugerama and Friday night ate at Liberty’s in Red Wing. Great buffet, fish, ribs, meatballs, shrimp, soup and salad bar. Lots of TV’s and a great bar.
Sat night we ate at the routiserie place. The food was awsome. A little pricey but great. Had to wait about 45 minutes for a seat and it didn’t seem busy. If you could get the room in the basement that would work better.
Never been to the Bluffs. Wish I would have know about it when we were there.

Mojo is’nt the only one. ….. I took the wife to the fish buffet 2 different times and there was no deep fried fish left and the soup was gone. I wasn’t impressed and the wife REALLY wasn’t impressed.

When I was up there for the Saugerama, we ate at this restaurant down the street from our motel, it was called McDonalds I believe? I thought it was GREAT!!! The people working seemed a bit on the slow side and they did accidently give me an extra McChicken, but no complaints

Every single time I am in Red Wing I stop at Liberty’s for their buffalo wings-they have an original flavor, a lil sweet, and not too spicy. Delicious big wings. MUST get the house ranch with them it has a hint of dill. You will not be disappointed. Great service. Doug the owner is a very nice guy, and is around all the time. Big fan. I started going there a few years ago when they advertised through IDO.

I have never had the chance to eat at the bluff’s so I can’t comment there.

Best wishes in your club tourney!

Maybe the bluffs will fry up the carp you will catch pre-fishing doug!
