Hello everyone,
I am afraid I have some really bad news. As a lot of you know my family and I been training a service dog who was scheduled to end up with someone with a physical disability, more than likely, someone in a motorized wheelchair. I know that some on this site have met him, as well as seen him in action. About 10 days ago we thought his right eye started to look real funny. We took him to his vet and he did all his magic and said he thought he had an eye infection. We treated Hudson for the next week how we were told to and had no improvement. At our next visit after no improvement our vet told us something is definately wrong with our BIG guy. We were referred to the best and really only canine eye specialist in the Twin Cities. Upon further examination it turns out Hudson has a cancerous tumor that developed very quickly under his right eye. It has been confirmed that he does have cancer and has been retired from the program. We will find out what our possible treatment options are next week on Thursday. If anyone has ever had to deal with cannine cancer feel free to chime in, I am looking for anything at this point. Luckily the organization we are trining him with is very supportive and will cover the cost of expenses for treatment, if that is a viable option. For all of you who have met Hudson before he says hello. Please say prayer for him in hopes that this unfortunate predicament can be treated. Here is his latest fall photo without his service uniform on. God Bless. and thanks for letting me rant.
