I didn’t catch the Chili interview. My guess is he is using that mind trick Lombardi used to employ.
Here it is. He knew everyone (fans/media) was going to come out and blame and bash Favre and yet he is still beloved in the clubhouse. By Chili coming out and ripping him, he turns into the bad guy and shifts the negativity onto himself. This guy is brilliant.
Not sure what he said, but this game was clearly Favre’s fault, aside from the coaching. But you know the coaching isn’t going to change and the guys should be playing within that handicap. The deal is Favre in all his years in the NFL still has not realized that he cannot will a complete pass. If you are getting hit or panicking, maybe the best thing to do would be to hold onto the ball.
It’s pretty obvious by now that this team is not going to be able to protect him like they did last year. And that means more turnovers. And that means this team is not going to turn it around. It’ll be fun having Rice and Moss out there and watching that, but they dug too deep a hole and I don’t see how they make the playoffs.
That is unless the offensive line some how becomes a brick wall from here on out. I love Favre when he has time. Even if he has time because of all the coverage down field, he still seems to find a guy or put the ball where only the receiver can get it. But a pressured Favre is mediocre at best and a turnover machine at worst.
