Pack: very good QB playing for a very mediocre team
I peeked in on and off during the game and every time I stopped in front of the TV the Pack was called for another penalty. Anyone know how many total yards they racked up on penalties?

18 for 152 yards! beat there old record set in i think 1945!
Yuck. Glad it didn’t watch it all. I did happen to catch that rather satisfying ending though.
September 28, 2010 at 3:46 am #90113017 penalties. Yards on penalties are a bit goofy. Pack’s #65 was called for false start a couple times in a row for 1/2 the distance to the goal which equaled about 1 foot or less

September 28, 2010 at 12:57 pm #901165It was a tough game to watch. I agree with what Steve Young said after the game. The Packers are a better team than the Bears. They just played horrible and just about anything that could go wrong, did. But a loss is loss. I know the Vikings have been on the other end of games like this, namely last years NFC championship.
September 28, 2010 at 1:06 pm #901167This will come back to haunt them. Road wins are tough to get with no penalties. Add 17 or 18 and you have no chance.

That’s just it… they were in it until the end, much like another team that I watch… horrible play and still having a chance, seems the team that can get it together, can and will win the NFC… the Bears may be undefeated, but sorry, they are not going anywhere… I am waiting for Rice to get back, Brett to get into playing shape and GB to continue to ignore that they have no running game and things will be interesting

September 28, 2010 at 1:23 pm #901175Tough game to watch. 18 penalties if they counted the illegal forward lateral on the last play of the game… Guess we all got to witness history though. The most penalties in the history of the Packers for one game…only 92 years or so… 2 or 3 picks given back due to penalties…
targamanInactiveWilton, WIPosts: 2759September 28, 2010 at 2:55 pm #901202did the PAC LOSE or did the BEARS WIN??!!!
ok, i admit, probably moreso the former than the latter, but the bears did come up with some big plays down the stretch – like peppers’ blocked field goal, hester’s punt return, a couple big cutler passes and urlacher’s fumble strip.
are the bears 3-0 good? probably not.
but a W is a WSeptember 28, 2010 at 6:01 pm #901236“Pac” is actually spelled PACK! ~ if you referring to the ultimate franchise in NFL history
Hats off to the Bears & their coaching staff. They played a good game and exploited Green Bay’s biggest 1-2 punch weakness. Special Teams & OL. I’m not much of a fan of the “bend but don’t break” defense but it certainly was effective last night in the outcome of the most important stat.
Still can not believe that Jones fumble didn’t find the white chalk before being recovered. Even the ball wasn’t bouncing in favor of the Pack last night! But speaking of Jones ~ if I was his coach ~ he’d a football duct taped to his for the next 6 weeks! Defensive backs need to clean it up too. Dropped picks & costly penalties is unacceptable at this level.
We’ll see where the season goes from here. I hope the Packers (players & coaching staff) use this big “L” as fuel to propel them through the season. Ton of lessons learned to pull from.

G says he’s coming over to put you through some schmack talk drills.September 28, 2010 at 6:56 pm #901256Bears going nowhere… they just beat two teams in back to back weeks that were both projected to be super bowl contenders and they both may still be, but cant the Bears at least get a little credit, we may go 3-13 for all I know but for now the Bears are atop the nfc and I will enjoy it while I can

The Bears did come out ahead…so, credit given! Congrats on a nice win Bears fans.
September 28, 2010 at 8:41 pm #901282Yes, enjoy it while you can…. I am sorry to say, Cutler looks so out of place…. he is not a leader, he has no drive, he does know how to elude confidence…. that will be the downfall of the Bears… not every team they face is gonna have 15 plus penalties, drop perfectly thrown interceptions and not have a run game to speak of. So yes, enjoy it while you can, nothing wrong with that
