My sister just called to tell me that the Lake Byllesby dam is failing. If this fails that is a whole lot of water going through downtown Cannon Falls.
    No good!!!

    That would most certainly suck.

Maybe I’ll take Hwy 61 up to Hastings and then navigate my way through the cities tomorrow.

They have closed hy 20 from Hastings to Cannon and all the Bridges in Northfield are closed, sandbagging downtown Northfield.
I am to go to work in Northfield Sunday, might go by boat.

Drove over the River at hwy 52. Never in my day, nor my extended family’s days, have we seen the river like this. Absolutely amazing!
“Rumor” is that the town is on a 5 minute evacuation alert if the dam breaks………..again, that is 3rd hand information. Cannot confirm, as I cannot find it on line.

If you want to see one of Nature’s greatest feats of “man-handling” mankind, this is honestly it for Minnesota. The lake/Dam has never seen this type of water before, not even close.

The rest family lives there, My brother is about 2 block from the river. They have said the water is pretty high and but so far the Dam is holding.
If it was to breatk that would be REALLY bad news for the town and the lake!

Did it hold up. River was still raging pretty good yesterday but assume it was down quite a bit
