This is my buddies future inlaws campground south of Pine Island. The picture of the camper is on the hill leading to the lower level overlooking over about 30 campers

That is a bummer, but on a positive note in the second pic it looks like they still have the option to play some boat basketball while the water is high

Why didn’t they move the camper to higher ground?

    Seems odd….

Water was not expected to get that high. Its been into the lower part of the park before but nothing more then getting tires wet. They went down at 4:00pm yesterday to ankle deep water to start moving trailers up the hill and by 5:00pm the water was 5 feet deep. To much to quick!

No, It is Hidden Meadows which is 3 miles south of Pine Island a 1/4 mile off of 52 and right on the Zumbrota River.

They don’t call them Flash Floods for nothing. I sure hope they all had flood insurance.

Here are some pics from Rochester at Cascade Creek and Zumbro River confluence below Silver Lake’s dam.

The shot from under the foot bridge was taken at about 6:30 Thursday evening and shows a couple trees on a point of land. The same trees can be seen at the far right in the pic showing the widespread flooding.

This stuff was happening right out my back door. This particular high water event marked the most water we have seen since the flood control project was completed. The water came within one foot of causing some super serious conditions.

With things going down nicely tonight, maybe I can get some sleep. It was kind of tense here last night.
