As I have mentioned on here in several posts, I and some friends have been coming to Lake Pepin white bass fishing the week after Labor Day for about 21 years now. I am thinking of coming in the spring next year and was wondering (and I know a lot of different things come into play here – weather, etc) when would be the best week to do this. I would want it to be a time where we would have a good shot at white bass and if they are not hitting be able to fish for other species as well. I know that isn’t asking much, is it? Anyway, if any of you have a suggestion for a best time to come up in the spring, I would appreciate knowing.

Thanks for any info you provide.

Some of the back bays in the back channel can have alot of
whities in the spring. All depends on water level , etc. They
always seem to be biting somewhere right where I’m walleye fishing.

Wkw, thanks for the info. What is considered “spring” – late May?

    Thanks!

It all depends on the weather and water level. This year I was catchin a few whites in early march while walleye fishin on pool 2.

    Take care!

Ron, on the river here, year in year out mid April is the start of the bass frenzy.Mother nature dictates for how long & where.Typically the month of May remains strong for that bite on this end of the pool.
