I was at my folks house on the Outer Banks of NC. when the terrorist attack happened. I remember walking on the beach and seeing fighter jets flying over head that were scrambled out of Norfolk Va. It still send shivers down my spine. My heart still goes out to those who lost family, friends and love ones that day. God Bless America and all that server her.

I was walking into a small coffee shop in Fulda, MN with Mikehd. It was like something out of the Twilight Zone. Everyone was glued to a small TV in a corner at the ceiling, with the blank stares and silence as soon as Mike and I walked in, we knew something historic happened

September 11, 2010 at 2:28 pm #898583I was at home carrying my 6 month old son at the time and turned on the TV and saw the second jet hit and stood there watching then 30 minutes later my phone rang and was placed on the alert team.
September 11, 2010 at 2:48 pm #898586I was just getting ready to leave the house and my son-inlaw called and told me to turn on the TV. As I did the second plane hit. I will remember that day and what I was doing and was going to do forever. God bless the fallen.
September 11, 2010 at 3:09 pm #898592Was at work and caught the first part online, then we watched much of it on TV.
Continued condolences for those who lost their lives or were effected directly, I think it did effect us all though and will for a long time.
May all those responsible for this and other terrorist activities rot in hell.
Never forget, never forgive.

As an MSPMAC employee we had to assist immediatley clear out the airport terminal, all planes in MSP airspace were required to be grounded immediatley.
After that all people were cleared form the aiport terminal so all law enforcement personel were allowed to search the entire terminal property.
We were assigned areas where we were to watch for any acctiviities or people were deemed to be suspicious.
I remember thinking what the heck would I do if someone came runnig out of the terminal door that I was assigned to watch.
And the days afterward when there was no air taffic allowed, seeing all the foriegn and domestic aircraft parked all around the airport.
Fully armed law,millitary,secrect service personel.
And for months afterward fulley loaded F-16’s taking of and landing,Guarding the airspace.Looking back it brings back the chills, just thinking about it.
Here’s a big salute and thank you, to all military and civilian forces that have prevented that from happening again.
Thanks to all
September 11, 2010 at 4:36 pm #898601I went to work that morning to get fired from my job which was the best thing that ever happened to me. Then heard all of the news.
September 11, 2010 at 5:19 pm #898608I was on the road traveling to Des Moines and back that day. Listen to it on the radio. At first didn’t think it was real. Will never forget that day!!

Had no idea what happened until the afternoon, the outfitter flew in very low and told us “something bad” happened in NYC, but had no real details. Didn’t find out the magnitude of it until on the way home we were able to buy a paper. In hindsight, it was nice not to know.
September 11, 2010 at 6:09 pm #898611I was still in Data-Com then, and like most, was at work and watched it all in the break room. Found out that night a install team that I had worked with in Ohio the week prior, was working in Towers. All four were lost. Strange in a way that I had only spent 6 or so hours with them, but I can still see their faces with vivid detail.
I was also building my house during that time after work. Was the strangest thing to see such a clear night and not a single jet up there.
Sept 12th, was the most spectacular show I had ever witnessed of the northern lights. Instead of looking to the north-west, when viewing to the east, they created streaks of colored light that all merged around a ring and became a single point of light.
As stated above, I am so humbled by and great-full for those that serve this country. I wish the fellowship of mankind would stay together like it did in the days/months following the attacks. We all forget just too easily how easy a moment can change history.
September 12, 2010 at 12:21 am #898637I was at an offsite training class with 20 other people – we saw the TV screens during a break and everyone was stunned and silent…..the trainer tried to get everyone back into the classroom…..nobody moved. Remember it being hard to grasp that what we were watching was really happening…. especially after the second tower was hit. God Bless America.
