Back from 10 years ago…the same look and feel of time gone by!

There are a quite a few guys around that still remember the old Fish the River.com So here’s a blast from the past for you and for newer members that would like to see what the “in” guys were talking about back in 2000.

    FTR Tip of The Day:
Despite the fact that the waters of the Mississippi River are murky, anglers frequently report outstanding results with jigheads or lures in very dark colors such as black, brown, dark green, and purple. These dark colors actually contrast well against the water and make it easier for the walleye to pick out your offering.

Man, it must have been frustrating back then. I tried posting a reply and it didn’t work.

Thanks Brian, I remmember getting home from work in the morning and patiently waiting for my dial up internet to connect so I could surf a little “fish the river” with a cold one before bed. Good memories….

Saw the Moving Waters add on the internet in fall 2000 and tried to book a trip the following spring with James…no dice as the river was well above flood stage…

Came back and tried again in July and hit a windless 100 degree burner of a day… remember that James?

We must have drank two cases of James diet Mountain Dew…

I came back in April 2002 and had a blast pitching chart/green core ringies into the high waters of P-4!

I joined the Staff shortly afterward…

You’re welcome Jon. Good to see you again.

And Tom? You still haven’t learned how to post a photo with out stretching the page!

I think I heard the IT guys talking about the site auto shrinking photos that were too large…after all it is 2010.

The best part is that none of us has aged at all.

We purchased our 1st computer in 01 and it wasn’t to long after that I found FishtheRiver.com. Soon after that was my 1st trip to fish pool 2.

I still have a unused decal around somewhere from Fishthe River.

I was registered in May of ’01—-gosh, I feel older than ever now. I am so old I remember when James put in 40 days straight fishing Pool 4 every Spring. He always took mercy on the guy with that bratty kid in tow and gave us some pretty darn good advice—thanks James for all the effort you have put into this site over the years

10 years? Wow! I had not idea this place was that old. Furthermore, it’s hard to believe it was more than a decade ago that Al Gore first gave us the internet.
