Hey guys I’m going to be buying a bunch of reels this winter and need some opinions. I would like some recommendations on reels for walleye fishing with the following tactics.

    1. Vertical Jigging

    2. Slip bobbering. Some of this will be done in heavy timber and stuff so something that can handle that.

    3. Castings jigs

    4. Castings Cranks

Also I would like your guys opinion on a baitcaster with flipping switch for running bottom bouncers? I was thinking possibly the cabelas prodigy?

I would like to spend under 100 dollars if at all possible. Thanks for the help guys.

You will only need one reel for all of those techniques. The Pflueger Arbor.

I missed the part about the bait caster. I like the Abu Garcia 5600C4 for bottom bouncers and trolling cranks shallow at night.

I was shamed by my nephew last summer as he caught 7 walleye before I caught one. He was sitting right next to me, using the same bait on the same rig. The difference? His Zebco 33. So I’d buy one of those.

PS – Must be matched with a Rhino rod or it’s a no-go!

For ruffly the same amount of money ,I believe you would like the Flueger Arbor also, a great reel for casting/pitching light weight jigs and can still handle the bigger weights.

See Dean at Everts for a try it before you buy it test run

    1. Vertical Jigging: Baitcaster (with flipping switch)

    2. Slip bobbering: Any baitcaster will do.

    3. Castings jigs: Spinning reel.

    4. Castings Cranks: Choice of spinning or baitcasting
