Unexpected opportunity to fish this weekend

My Dad and his wife volunteered to come down and keep an eye on the kids this weekend. I figure this would be a great chance for the wife and I to get out for a day on the water and day for doing what she would like. So here is my question, I am wondering if anyone can recommend a spot to go for the weekend. Would be willing to drive 3-4 hours from Madison WI area. I would prefer to stay in WI waters to avoid having to buy another license this late in the season. I have a boat that can handle big water but also wouldn’t be opposed to going out with a guide for half a day to really get us on some solid fishing action.

    Thanks

Look at the posts on jigging for salmon in milwaukee harbor. Depending on the weather could be a very good time to try that. Seems a bit early for Lake Wisconsin eyes but maybe Castle rock would be good. Just a couple ideas.

Some buddies of mine did real well on Balsam Lake in Polk County recently. Mostly gills.

This right here is a great suggestion. Winds are suppose to be primarily from the west all this week. That should bring in lots of cold water to the Milwaukee Harbor just outside of the McKinley marina.
If I can get my trailer rewired by this weekend, there is a strong chance I’ll be doing this myself.
