That’s right,,,went hog hunting this afternoon with a buddy on private land.

On the way into the stand we got winded by the hogs (About 10) and they ran off.

Got up in the stand about 6:45,,feeder didn’t go off,,but I waited on them to return.

About 7:30 about 7-10 came in very quietly from my right side headed to where the feeder was.

I checked out a few through the scope looking for the ones without the,,,(well you know what I was looking for on the back side) any way, the one that was about 20 yards from me didn’t have any,,,so I drove his head in the ground with a shot just below the ear, He didn’t move!

Cocked the gun real fast and looked up to see one coming from my left to my right,,,,,BAM! He ran off away from me,,,,cocked the gun again,,,,,another one behind a small bush,,,BAM,,,he went about 20 feet and dropped!

HOT DAM! I was jacked up! Took a long breath and decided to call David on the phone and let him know what happened. After a short conversation, I got ready to come down from the stand,,,and Ill be dam, there was another one right under the stand,,(If I would have had a shell in my Glock I could have blasted him too!

Man what a great hunt! David said they were about 80-90lbs each

    Thanks Davin G. for everything!

Nice shot Captain but I believe the photos are a little graphic for this site.

Are those things good eating? Just like farm raised hogs? Dont think we have any running wild around the upper midwest but have heard they can be a problem farther down south.

    (I deleted the first pic)

The small to large female hogs are very good to eat.

The larger male hogs are no good at all

Yes,, they are a major problem down here in the south. They allow night hunting and there is no off season on them.

Some idiot imported them to se iowa and they are a major problem now. Not sure of the night hunting rules for them but there is no closed season on them.

    Nice job Capt. Rick

I’ve wanted to do that for years. Rifle, handgun or bow, it wouldn’t matter. Laying down some pork products like that sounds like way too much fun.

Nice shooting Rick, I’ve always wanted to hunt hogs with a bow, how much does a tag cost?

All you need is a hunting license,,,no tags needed.

Wow! That looks like fun!! Are farmers down that way eager to give permission to hunters willing to help out???

Sweet. I’d like to try that with my bow!
