I work as a nanny taking care of a five year old boy and seven year old girl. I want to do something with them tomorrow, an outing of some sort. It is supposed to be raining. They live in wright county and I am on a limited budget. Any ideas?

Do you have 3 fishing poles?

What part of Wright Co are you located. Sent me a PM if you would rather not give out your location.

to what i think brian is getting at. if you or they have access to a few fishing rods, you can pick up a couple dozen nightcrawlers for less then 10 bucks at a bait shop, walmart, or holiday gas station. take them to a lake, and let them catch sunnies all day!

maybe someone on the site from that area can point you in the direction of a good panfish lake that has a dock to fish off of.

and then if they get bored, they can always go swimming.

    a win win for you!

me thinks you are ignoring the probably going to rain part…., otherwise solid suggestions, we’re lame, usually we go to the mall (MOA) and walk around and poor weather days.

Yeah the rain part kinda throws out the fishing although I don’t know what time of day it is supposed to rain… I’ll have to check that. Otherwise they live in Howard Lake so I know when we were kids you could catch all the potato chip sunnies you wanted off the dock at Lake Mary. Maybe we’ll try that if the weather holds. If not, Cabelas might work the only problem is the commute; I usually drive dad’s truck which gets less than 14mpg but maybe mom will let me borrow her 29mpg car. Rogers is closer but I’ve never been to that one. Do they have the same stuff as owatonna?

If it’s not raining and you can get over to Brooks, you’ll have a better size of fish…but most of the time with kids, they just want a tug…and lots of them.
