Bump back to the top… my new 2100 will be rigged and ready for demos. Ever drive a 300 HP outboard? Me neither.

I think there’s a reason Skeeter Boat Center is handing out free hats to anyone taking a demo ride. Remember to turn yours backwards or risk losing it the dark waters of the Mississippi River after it comes flying off your noggin.

    See everyone there!

Just stopping in to see that 21 foot 300 hp is worth the trip!

James, any idea what the top end on that will be?

I would expect to see 60 MPH at the Ride N Drive. I’ll get more out of it after some prop tweaking but 60 sounds like a safe bet.

Too late. I just talked to Gregg at Skeeter Boat Center and that honor goes to Sean the head technician. Apparently Sean found some time in his busy day to start the break in process over on the Chippewa. Sean reports 60 MPH downstream with a full tank of gas (60 gallons) with the wrong prop and very early on in the break in process.

Sean went out on a limb and predicts 63 MPH with a stock prop after the correct replacement prop arrives tomorrow.

I’ll be happy with 60. So… looks like I’m going to be a VERY happy guy!

I really like to go fast. 3 or 4 times. Then I’ll be back to cruising around at 35 MPH in an effort to conserve fuel. But I do like to know that my boats are set up to run as well as they possible are able. And with the new motors from Yamaha there’s a lot of excitement over what the new motors will be capable of doing. So far things are looking GOOD.

Nope. My PB is that 225hp V-rod equipped WX2000T tiller I drove a few weeks ago.

James, just curious. You mentioned that the SBC tech had already run your new rig with 60 gallons of gas on board. Is it their normal policy to deliver a new boat with a full tank, even if it costs $150-200??
Hope the demo weekend goes well, and nobody crashes the dock with your new rig.

Normal, no, I wouldn’t think so. They always leave the customer with plenty of fuel for their maiden voyage but filling the tank on a 2100 is likely more than one could expect. Since the boat will be used at the Ride N Drive this weekend I know I won’t be looking at anywhere near a full tank when I pick up the boat. She’ll have a few miles on it. As for damage at the Ride N Drive… I’ve helped out at 3 or 4 of these events and everyone is incredibly courteous and if something was to happen I know SBC would take care of it. So I’m trying not to worry about it too much. Or think about it. So thanks for bringing it up.

Thanks Hot Runr Guy! Now all I can think about is BK with muddy feet waiting for his turn to smash…. er, DRIVE the 2100.

BK, I think you should stay home and play with Dean’s tractor.

Sorry James. I was kinda hoping BK was butt-deep in cat food, and wouldn’t see this.

Mud is not the worst thing to track in the boat, last year at the LAX Ride and Drive I managed to find a nice, fresh dog pile right before I got in one of the boats

Normally I would agree with you Waldoishere.

We were on the Red River this last weekend. That mud is like Sonny’s Super Sticky. Try to was it off your hands and it just smears.

I going to guess that James would have rather had doggie do in the boat than Red River mud.

That stuff isn’t mud. It acts more like a heavy grease. I’m sure a big pocket full of quarters spent at the car wash will solve the problem but this is another one of those “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” deals.

Don’t know how long this storm is going to last, but there won’t be much going on today if this continues….It’s black as night out right now, high winds, sideways rain….Good stuff!!

Made it out to the Ride and Drive this afternoon for a few hours. I was able to hop in the WX1990, WX2100, and the ZX225. All great boats and platforms in their own ways. The ROAR of the new SHO really gets the heart pumping. Hitting the throttle while in the mid ranges…throws you back into the seat! It really catches you off guard.

Talking to Gregg and trying to find words to describe the Wx2100. All I could say was WOW. The boat really speaks for itself. I was bracing myself for some waves that I thought I was really going to feel……just a few ant hills. What a smooooth ride. BTW…3 guys, 2 elementary age boys, 50+ gallons of gas, 300hp SHO = 60mph

Hope to make it out tomorrow. I want to hop in a few more rides and put a few more names to faces.
