I just finished reading that. Very interesting. They should realize that this kind of thing doesn’t happen just in bass fishing, either. I’ve seen it happen in Neb. catfish tournies, and I know there’s been a few problems with guys in the walleye circuits here in Neb as well.

It’s a unique problem that not everyone thinks about, but it must be dealt with. Just goes to show, people get crazy in all walks of life when $$ gets crazy.

Man, talk about making some bad choices. He just flushed his career down the drain.

Its always in the back of my mind how many people don’t get caught. For Hart, I’m glad to see he is banned for life. At this level, there is an expected level of credibility and responsiveness. He threw all that away.

Things like this really make the AIM tournament format (CPR) much more desirable.

Randy hit it on the head – and while I wish there had been some criminal charges to boot, Mike Hart will be shunned like a lepar the rest of his life.

Too bad! It reminds me of “the good old days” of musky fishing in WI.They were so obsessed with WR that peeps would stuff the muskies full of lead…Pretty sad even back then…

Apparently July was a month for cheaters. On Lake Michigan out of Ludington one of the “Best teams”, Team Best Chance Too was caught cheating. From following the reports they were trying to purposfully shake and whap fish off the line behind the boat with the net.

Sounds like every fish that makes it in the net must be kept, no releasing allowed. There were witness including official tourney observers. When confronted their responce was ” Its nothing other boats havent done…”

They bowed out or first place and no action from banning them has yet taken place, eventhought it is written clearly in the rules.

So does this mean the end of tournaments?
Do we need to resort to x-raying all fish at the weigh in?
Does there need to be an official on each boat to certify the means by which fish are caught and stored?

    OR

Should we rely on the integrity of our fellow fishermen?
I fished a few Neb Walleye Assoc tourneys and never even considered that there might be cheaters. I was there to enjoy my time and make new friends in doing so. I guess money is the root of all evil. If that is true, then I am as non-evil as you can be.
