Hats off to those working outside today. Worst day yet this year.

If you have an indoor AC job, nomatter how much you might hate it it is still betteer than being out side.
Well, back to it for me, I might have 1 dry spot left on my shirt… -Mark

My work brings me in and out of AC 20-25 times a day and every time it gets like this I get really sick and have to rest a day after I am done for the week.

I look forward to ice fishing!

I’m working inside in the AC, but I’m thinking my run tonight after work might be pretty nasty.

2 Wednesdays ago was pretty bad too. Dewpoint hit 80 that day. Very rare for that to happen. Dewpoint is 72 right now.

Dewpoint’s 74°F here in Brooklyn Center, temp’s 93°F and the humidity is 74%.

They’re predicting some pretty severe thunderstorms around here tonight. Yay. I really have to clean my garage one of these days. Either that or figure out how to communicate clearly to the sky to keep the damned hail off my Mustang, Explorer and boat!

I was saying something similar when I was watching some guys re-surfacing the roof of a nearby office building. It was still a toss-up but I decided I would rather deal with the vast amount of crap on my desk than play with hot asphalt on top of a building with no shade.

Today is the day they started tearing up the blacktop on the streets in our neighborhood… I feel bad for the guys sitting on internal-combustion-powered metal machines in this heat out in the sun.

Then again heavy equipment guys get paid well, so I suppose they just take it in stride. Still… it’d kill me. At 6’4″ and 290 I don’t dispose of excess heat very well. Working outside on a day like this would, possibly quite literally, kill me.

Thank God for my nice, tidy white collar…

it was considerably cooler outside today then it was in our shop and of all days for me to have to work with production on a problem job. I was still able to spend half the day in the office and not out in the shop, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have lasted very long but it might be a good weight loss idea for me.

It was terrible out here in SD this afternoon. I must have drank at least 3 bottles of water during the 18 holes I worked….

No doubt it was miserable day.

I love my A/C job now no doubt, but I feel I put my time in, while in manufacturing. Hardhat, Steel toe boots, safety glasses/goggles, long pants, no A/C, no breeze, at least 80 welders going at any given time and lots of CNC machines, for 10 hours at a time, all the while trying to get more work out of the guys….. No doubt, hats off to the guys resurfacing Hwy 15 south of Cloud the last 2 weeks

Hey, workin inside ain’t all it’s cracked up to be either. I’m a boiler operator at the college, and let me tell ya, it’s a little warm in there workin!!

Yesterday I had to crawl INSIDE a boiler. Ever seen a fat guy try to get into one of those manholes? Good times, good times….

I don’t believe you. I’d recommend you have a coworker take some video the next time and post on youtube. For documentary purposes only….

My hats off to anyone that has been working outside this summer in the heat. I’ve got a cushy job in front of a pc in the a/c. But this past weekend I replaced part of the floor in my hunting shack. I couldn’t drink enough water to prevent the heat sickness I got on Sunday thru Monday. Again I feel for the outdoor folks right now. Drink one for me.

Went from ice cold to super hot about a dozen times today. The back of the ambulance takes a long time to cool down when it is this hot. But, when I went from outside to inside, I almost needed a blanket to keep from freezing

It is days like this where I am so glad I am out of the construction and manufacturing industry

Homeowner of a project I am working on demanded I jumped in his pool. Not a bad gig when the humidity is this high.
