went to the doctor today and found out i have a case of possible skin cancer. she told me i had to wear a long sleeve or t shirt at all times when i’m out in the boat fishing. but i know with musky fishing 20 hour days in 90plus degree weather this isn’t going to happen as cotton shirts become too sweaty and hot. i was wondering if anybody uses under armor or any products like that to keep you cool and breathe the air better. i want to get an idea on what works best b4 i spend the money so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Time to start cat fishing!

There is clothing that is SPF rated and that would be the way to go. I have had some in the past and I wear it when it is hot and sunny I typically am cooler in that clothing than a t shirt and shorts.

Sorry to hear about that too. It is a concern of mine since I burn so easily.

Oh I know you do! I become night only fishing when it is hot out. Last fall on the croix I had one rod out for redhorse and one throwing musky baits and my crawler line ended up gong out and caught a 45 inch musky on a size 8 circle hook with a crawler at night. Not a typical way of catching them.

BTW I hope you fail your skin cancer test! I mean the test showing you don’t have it that is.

I’ll tell ya, skin cancer is nothing to shake a stick at. I had a round of it a couple years ago and got it removed with the first layer of skin (Mohs surgery). Now I don’t care WHAT I look like out on the water as long as I’m protected. Not tryin to win a fashion contest anyways.

I wear long sleeve shirts all the time,I have sensitive skin…It is easier for me that way. Like what was said before, get some light colored Columbia Bonehead shirts.I think you will be amazed by how cool they are in the hottest weather! Good Luck! Paul

I wear the Columbia SPF protection shirts too, and they are nice. I found mine at Herbergers. I’m sure other clothing retailers carry them.

    Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the tip about Herbergers. They are cleaning out their summer stock and I just picked up three for $19.99 apiece!
