I’m sure a lot have seen this already.

This story makes you want to think a lot more before bringing animals into the home. Thanks for the post.
I think it is funny that people can be stupid enough to think they can take a wild baby skunk and try to make a pet out of it. Much less, 20 people in the same family.
If anyone is interested, I know a farm just south of Hudson that has some kick butt baby rats that would make great pets too. Shoot me a PM and I’ll give you directions.
Oh, yeah… ignorance, dead pets and little kids with rabies.
Freakin hillarious.
/sarcasm
In other news, the thought of people taking a skunk home for a pet is, all by itself, hillarious. It’s the repercussions (oddly, especially having to put the dog to sleep) that killed off any sense of funny about it for me.
Sorry to be a stick in the mud… I guess it’s just my Central MN humorless Scandinavian upbringing.
Sucks about the dog, but momma always said stupid is is stupid does. Have a little common sense bring a wild skunk into a home with kids…pretty stupid!
Hopefully the doggie lives through his 6 month quarantine and is fine.

That’s the other really stupid thing about these people. Who doesn’t get the basic vacinations for their dog? Do you really think these are the type of people who will pay for a 6 month stay at the pound?

One can only hope. I’d venture to guess that for most people who don’t vaccinate, it isn’t a money issue. After all, if you can’t afford a rabies shot, you probably can’t afford dog food.
Considering the media play on wild animals and the problems they bring, these people either have to be a major case of stupid, or living in a one room shack with no electricity.
Funny..maybe not, stupid…yup
Sure hope the dog turns out ok.
Al
Well it just goes to show you can not train the dumb out of stupid.
Hell all us Red Necks have skunks in the house. Who in their right mind would bring a frecken skunk into your home?

OK now THAT’S FUNNY!!
reminds me of the old Ole and Lena joke where Ole ran over moma skunk and Lena gets out of the car and starts gathering all the little babies into her dress, when she gets into the car Lena asks about the smell, Ole says “I don’t think they will mind”!
Pug all of us hicks from Iowa own skunks

Aw, that’s just a nibble. No one likes my bait.
Maybe I read the story too quick, but I don’t know why people are getting their panties in a bunch. Were people murdered and robbed of their livelyhood in that story? I must have missed it.
I think the humor in it, was just a day before the same news station published a sweet story about how these people took this skunk in, then the next day they publish this news. Not funny to the family for their situation but funny that the station was all warm and fuzzy about it, then this…
It’s cheesy and tacky with a little bit of dark humor involved (Getting sick from a skunk stinks) And who in their right mind keeps a skunk as a pet? Then who stops in and visits a pet skunk? It’s only fair to explain why I found humor in it. Sorry if it offends anybody. I do feel sorry for the poor dog.
Yep, the summer doldrums are here, the bite slows down and we’re discussing this….
