Skeletons in the closet

I can tell how old I’m getting by the level of resistance I have for change…… However, this last Christmas, my son bought me an MP3 player so I knew it was time to give in and, for the 3rd time in my life, build a music collection. While I’m still in the dark about a lot of this stuff, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a couple of friends to help with it. 7 months later, I’ve found myself wanting to find some rarer material or at least save some rarer stuff from my cassette and CD collections. So I had my buddy rip a couple CD’s from my yesteryears and put them on the MP3, which spurred a conversation about “the old days”.

A few hours later led me to some internet surfing and I got to wondering if any of this old stuff that was distributed across the globe might still be kicking around and I found this:

    ebay

There it was…… a blast out of my own past….. being sold by Retrospect Records!

Wait a minute…..WHO???? I didn’t remember ever making a deal on this. One voice says, “Cool….some of your stuff is still out there”, and another asks, “Is this something you’re willing to just give away?”. Well, Yes and No.

So I made some calls yesterday and found out that all the copyrights are being followed and that I do have some royalties due….enough to buy a Happy Meal!

It was like finding a painting that you created, gave to someone for safe keeping, and then 20 years later BAM! There’s prints being sold without your knowledge! It was a weird/cool confusing moment that really caught me off guard.
    Still feels a bit weird…….but maybe that’s me in a nutshell….

Wicked big hair. I thought the 80s were great when I lived them, but I don’t want to go back. Somehow having to grow a mullet when I no longer have any hair on top would just look stupid.

    Hey Ken!

Good to see your post again…now are you the blond guy?

And are you online because you’ve retired with your royalties?
