Was wondering if anybody had a suggestion for a solid anchor. I am tired of my anchor slipping in moving water. I dont mind a heavy anchor as long as it does its job and i dont have to reset it every ten minutes. I will wait for suggestions before I fill a five gallon bucket with concrete and shove some rebar through it

I posted this same question about a year ago. Everyone was very helpful and steered me to a “Water Spike” anchor. Best I have ever had and holds securely in EVERYTHING!!

I also have a spike, because I DO mind having to haul up 40 pounds of anchor. Those with strong backs like the richter anchor. Different anchor styles, but both good.

3-4 feet of anchor rope per each foot of water your fishing will hold you better vs a heavy anchor.. 8lb waterspike is what I used for a 20 foot boat with the appropiate length of anchor rope it held everytime.

Digger is the one for me. Have had no issues holding my 620T in 3+ footers in 30+ feet of water. Also once had one hung up in a log jam on the mighty Miss. It has a built in release mechanisim, because of that, I got my anchor back!

If you use 3 or 4 feet of rope per foot of depth and also add about 4 feet of chain between the end of the rope and the anchor it should hold in almost any current.

I carry both richter and waterspike. Waterspike gets the thumbs up for very fast high water and wind. Like the richter for slower current, light wind, when I can`t put out a lot of rope.
