My inlaws have a cabin on Belle taine and I have never stayed at campers paradise, but it is a pretty nice place. It is an island. Also, the sand beaches in this lake are like nothing I have seen anywhere else in MN, awesome! Fishing can be good for bass and crappies. Water is very clear and walleye action is limited to early morning and night fishing. Hope that helps!

a coworker of mine goes there every year, for like the past 5+ years. i’ll ask him tomorrow the pros/cons of it.

they don’t do a whole lot of fishing, more jetskiing, tubing, etc.

but i’ve fished that area quite a bit, and belle taine can be a good lake, just a lot of recreational boaters is all.

It is a great family camping place. I’ve been there every labor day weekend since I was born-26 times I guess. I’ve also been there a few times in July with some friends. As kids we biked all over the island, hit the arcade, went swimming at the beach and the campsite, did watersports from our site, and went fishing either at the bridge or in the boat. We always caught bass, Northerns, and sunnies from shore. We’ve also caught crappies in the back bays and walleyes off the big point on the island. Nevis always seems to have things going on as well although we seldom left the island. Book it and you’ll be happy.

My grandma and uncle live in Nevis and Park Rapids. I havent fished Belle Taine (Grandpa and my great uncle are buried on it shores), but that area is really taking off. My kids have a great time at the World Of Christmas (Go Karts, bumper boats, mini golf, wall climbs, water balloon wars, batting cage, etc).

So if you feel like getting off the lake, you are close to Walker and Park Rapids for some lunch or ice cream shops.
