Will be heading to Canadian side of Rainy Lake a month from now. Leaving from NW Iowa and usually stop at Cabelas in Owatonna and get a flat of crawlers. Been happy with them until last year. Any other recommendations that isn’t out of the way. Thanks

Try this link. I use them all the time. Delivered right to your door. Have always been very happy with the bait, lively, fat and juicy.

Give them a try. That way, you have the flat and can stop if you want to, otherwise keep right on driving.

Unless something changed very recently you are not allowed to bring crawlers into Canada, even though most crawlers come from there!

What is going to be your travel route?
You might be able to pick up your crawlers directly from Vado’s. A fantastic place to get live bait from, I highly recommend them

We will be going on 35E through the cities which for someone who does a lot of city driving probably wouldn’t be too bad to get there but for a born & raised IA farmer I’m just happy to get through the cities on the main interstate. My brother lives in Eden Prarie and is coming back this weekend but it might be hard to keep them in good shape for a month. Might see about having them shipped. Thanks for the info.

If you go 35W, go almost right by Vado’s

There’s a bait shop at the Harris exit on 35 about an hour north of the cities that’s good. I think it’s called Fish Lake Bait. Big juicy crawlers there!
