I’m newer to fishing Lake Waconia and am wondering if anyone has been fishing it for bass lately? I got out a few times early in the year and had some luck in the shallows/reeds flippin tubes, but would like to go to the deeper weedlines as summer progresses and and wondering which reefs/deep weedlines are the best.

Most of the best Bass fishing on Waconia is done vertically jigging Jigs in the heavy milfoil. There is a fair amount of rock in some spots and those areas with milfoil over the rocks or right next to them are the best spots. With a really good graph set up correct you may be able to locate area of rock below the thick milfoil. I can not get my unit to do it but i know some who say they can. If you locate Rock with thick milfoil you should find some really nice fish. there are some HUGE fish in Waconia. best of luck to you.

I am NOT a bass guy haven’t been for 3 years but I fish waconia 6-7 days a week and the thing that gets most overlooked by the bassheads is COONTAIL/ROCK. I’ve ran into schools of 19-23″ bass while Muskie fishing, don’t be afraid to throw som big baits at them. My biggest a 23″ ate a mag bull dawg.
