I’ve recently decited to replace my noisey 90 hp merc with something else. I’ve heard some good things about the Optimax and some not so good about them. Any help would be appreciated from those of you that own one

    thanks Brad

A lot of the problems the Opti’s have had are self inflicted problems like poor break-in procedure. It was really apparent on the PWT where the guys run the hell of out them. Plus they were sometimes mounted too low to the water and had a tendancy to suck some in when going off throttle too hard. I see a lot of them around now and haven’t heard anything that sticks out.

I am considering one now that they have had a few production runs.

    hi Brad,
am also thinking about the new Opti’s, starting this year they have 3 new midrange models, a 115, 90, and a 75. heard the top two are available now and the 75’s are not quite avail. the 115hp is a 3 cylinder. keep us posted. Jack.
