I have a cabin in northern Wisconsin that I’m trying to keep the natural shoreline, but am having a tough time with muskrats tunneling into the yard. I’m continually patching the holes, but am wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions including any and I do mean any method of ridding myself of these vermin.

If the DNR allows you to trap them, get some 110 conibear traps. Easy to use. Good luck.

In WI you can trap on your own land all year round without a license.

My grandparents put chicken wire on the shoreline and added some small boulders. Not sure what the regs are for you to work with your shoreline but if you can’t trap you probably can’t do this either.

Conibears, , .22 short, just as effective and more fun. Rats will do a major number on your yard in a hurry.
