2008 Alumacraft Trophy 175 with a 115 4 stroke. What are you getting for top speed at what RPM’s and prop size. I just bought this boat and get 5500 RPM at 36mph with a 14×18 ss prop. I heard some people get 42mph at 6000 RPM’s. Any input?

Sure someone will chime in that knows the actual WOT RPM for that motor, but if you have 500 to go, you are not getting all 115 horses out of your motor. Is your boat rated for a higher HP motor? If so, maxing out your RPM’s will be important so you 1) don’t lug your motor 2) Keep the boat up on plane easier.
Good luck and that is a nice rig!

What brand motor? You’ll need to know the max RPMs of that motor..

My experience – 2001 Trophy 175, Yamaha 115 4 stroke – 40-42 mph. 6,000 RPMs and trimmed up. Aluminum prop, but unclear what size prop. It’s not my boat, but I use it on occasion.

I would guess your boat is overpropped. I used to run a 17 pitch SS prop on a 17′ Alumacraft T-Pro w/ 115 2 stroke. Much different hull design than the Trophy. I would try a 16-17 pitch to get more RPMs, usually 6000 is around max.
