WOW. Pretty interesting finish. I thought something was up with Jake for a while now. The kid wasn’t his normal smart self. Very slow to respond, slurrring words. It will be interesting to see how Phil reacts to the last words of last nights show.

I agree. Especially since we all know the outcome for dear old dad.

It WAS very sad. Especially to hear how Jake was trying and trying to tell him that he’s sick.

The last 5-10 minutes was very hard to watch. I knew something like this was coming looking at the show guide, but for him to be doing that to his dad was just depressing. As someone said, especially when you know what happens with Phil.

Anyone catch After the Catch? I saw parts of it.

His dad caught him stealing his pain pills….. Then, Phil tells him, he wants him out of his life, that he is a thief and a liar…. sad, knowing what happens to Phil in a short time…. Then Jake looks him in the eye and says he is addicted to the drugs…. end of show.

I wish I had DVR’d it, but did he say something like:

“I am an addict, I have been using crack”

I missed it too but it should run again next week Tuesday at 7pm. I think it may run Thurs. night as well, I know I have caught the current episode on Thurs or Fri nights.

I don’t think he said anything about Crack. In response to Phil asking ” What do you mean you’re sick” Jake responded with “I’m an addict”

I missed it too – see what I get for mowing the lawn…

I’ll have to wait for the re-runs again.

It was good, but then I am a Time Bandit fan!

Next week it will be about the Northwestern.

Jake was in rehab just a short while ago after his accident and DUI.

I didn’t go into details in the previous post because I didn’t want to spoil it for those who DVRed it.

So those who did, this is a *Spoiler alert*

Mike took a nice block of ice to the head. Ouch! Looking at the replay, I have to say I would have been on the ground, but that big ox took it pretty well.

It’s hard to watch this year knowing that Phil passed away. Last night’s episode blew me away. Even though Phil was telling Jake he was done with him, etc. I think he handled it better than I would. I think I would have gone into port and kicked Jake off.

The Jake on the Northwestern is going through hell as well.

After the Catch was good as well. A Duck Fart sounds pretty good as an after dinner drink. Or before…

    Or FOR dinner…

Caught it last night too. Wow. Didn’t see that one coming. As said before, even more depressing knowing what happens to Capt Phil.

Sad ending to the show, however, you have to remember that you are only seeing the edited version. Unless you were the camera man, you don’t know what was said before or after that.

That was messed up, I have 2 young boys and can’t imagine being in a situation like that or ever saying you want them out of your life. Classic example of money doesn’t buy happiness.

That’s how Phil reacts. I am sure he doesn’t mean it and I am sure he’ll sing a different tune in upcoming episodes.

I wouldn’t say those guys are ‘swimming’ in money either. Yeah, they pull a lot of money for a couple weeks work, however they don’t crab year round.

I also think they are a pretty happy family. The kids are just typical smart alec 20 somethings, but they are proud of their pop and love him. They say it all the time.

I don’t think you’ll see much singing by Phil in upcoming episodes. I’m pretty sure the next episode is where he dies.

I am EXTREMELY pissed off right now. Was just out relining a rod in the garage, and a huge storm moved in very, very quick. Storm has already passed and I can see clear sky, when just 5 minutes ago, all I could see was a blue and white wall of water. Knocked out my satellite, so now I have to wait until 11 to get it ALL recorded. Unless another storm moves in, or course.

Didn’t Phil and the kid kinda make up at the end, where they hug and he tells the kid he needs treament and will go with him?

I hope so, other wise Jake will live with his father disowning him.

Like Slop Bass said, it put a lump in our throat.

Yes, way to many commericals, if I seen that gold covered sheet one more time I was gonna puke.

but seems TV is more comm than programs now anyway, thank goodness for the mute button at least
