Looking for help! I recently purchased a LMS 520c and I am hooking up a LGC 2000 antenna(which is new) to it. When I turn on the unit it says ” GPS module not responding “. Since it is not the 3000 series puck do I have to do anything different with the setup? I do have power to the antenna. I have the adapter cord from blue to red on the antenna. Any ideas out there??

If you have a test meter make sure you have 12V to both sets of wires to the LMS520 them my first guess is a bad antenna,if it’s not a new antenna?

hmmm there is an update for the gps modules… I not sure if you can update it if it’s not seeing it though, I’m also not sure it’s the proper fix either. Maybe Dandorn will pop in, I bet he know better, all my stuff is “old” blue network…

Start with checking for power and make sure everything is hooked up correct to the manual.

You need to the latest software in the 520c to communicate with he LGC-2000. I had the same problem. Go to the Lowrance website and get the update.

Brad, I checked the software on my 520 and the version was 2.5.0.. It stated if that version shows up not to do the download.

Just to make sure, Do you have power both to the 520, and to the network? They need to be powered separately, and the network should be on a switch since the puck will pull power all the time if it isn’t switched. If that is done correctly, then I would check to make sure you are getting power at the puck when the network is on. Sure sounds like a power issue.

I’d still download it and burn it onto the machine to eliminate the software as an issue. Software gets bugs in it under use also.

You might also check to see if the antenna’s need a ground and check it if so.

I just put a 4000 puck into an LCX-17 and Dan Dorn’s help was critical. We screwed around with software updates for at least three days. Dan is fishing a tournement currently, but when he’s back, I’ll have him post here.

    Good luck. I didn
