    Out of that many guys you know for damn sure at least one knew the rules or knew it was wrong. If they think they were targeted “witch hunt” It makes me wonder if they know more people poaching…

    This goes on all the time. Perhaps not to this extent… but overbagging is a real problem pretty much everywhere. A bit of a catch-22 I think. Nobody wants to be checked every time they go out but due to so many water bodies and so few CO’s, that’s how these turds get away with it so often.

    The sad part about this is many people actually think they are entitled to catch and keep what they want because they bought a license. WHAT?

    I say this because I had along conversation with a fishing buddy of mine for 11 years about possession limits. He didn’t get it either. Now he does.

    Regardless. Not a which hunt, someone saw what was happening and called it in. The CO are few and the poachers are many.

    Good job on the bust. We need more of it to happen.

    I heard about this right after it happened. the guy alone didnt pay $1200 for his condo. they split the condo fee and not only that, it’s a cheap condo On the chippewa flowage. Normally $1700 is about right for a week.
    anyways, I also heard that some of the Bible boys were preachers.
    what they were doing is getting fish for a church fish fry.
    that wasnt mentioned in the paper either. I know people that were there when these guys got busted. yes they are going to pull the race card out. they already said it when they were getting busted cuz only black people were getting tickets.
    give it some time. the reverend al sharpton and jessie jackson should show up soon and try to wreck fishing too.

    I think these guys got a slap on the wrist if you ask me.

    The thing of it is…they just took a crap load of fish out of my favorite lake. I say fine them triple. If they are too stupid to figure out the rules, then they are too stupid to know what fine is too much. make em pay more!!!

    If that is true that they are preachers that is very scary. Influencing “your” (preachers) selfish ways to please the “Majority” (Choir). I hope most people are smart enough to see around this. There is always two sides to every story… sigh

    The comment about “do you really think I would spend 1300 to catch just 50 fish?” just shows that they feel they are entitled to catch what they want because they spent a bunch of money to go on a harvest. They knew what they were doing. Their favorite pastimes are bible study and fishing. If one of your favorite pastimes is fishing, and you are over the age of 10, you have read the rule book at least once.

    If one of your pastimes is watching Nascar, would you be shocked to learn the cars always turn left? Calling it a favorite pastime and the claiming stupidity for the rules just doesn’t add up in my book.

    Throw the book at them, and hunt down the others they claim were doing the same thing and didn’t get busted, and then throw the book at them too.

    I agree that that was only a slap on the wrist! I spend a lot of money every year on fishing and I might keep 50 fish in a year. I spend the money for fun! I have been having a discussion online with a guy “harvesting” a protected fish in WI waters. He doesn’t get it either.
