I have a problem with my Terrova hitting my trailer when it comes off? Its only on steep landings when the bunks drop away from the bow before the boat slides off. Any one else have similar problems, or any ideas on how to remedy it?

This will happen on any boat on a step ramp if the trolling motor mount hangs off the front. About the only thing I’ve found that helps is to not put the trailer in as far. Unless you’re willing to remove / move the terrova each time you launch. Which I’m not.

Is it because the motor sticks out to far and hits as the boat drops off the trailer??

Do you have the slide mount set up for the Terrova?
If so, pull the screw that locks the unit in place on the mount and slide the motor back a bit, maybe that will give you clearance enough??

fwiw I have to slide mine back to get the cover to fit, so I drilled a hole in the slide mount and use a pad lock to keep it back while covered, also helps keep people from stealing it.

    Hope this makes sense?

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I’ve tried not putting it in as far, but then I can’t get it off the trailer? I’ve even tried powering it off in reverse, but unless it is backed in far enough it won’t come off? I think my trolling motor hangs out the front of my bow considerably more than most boats I’ve ever seen or dealt with?

I could mess with that mount, but to be honest I don’t want to have to do that every time! I’ll mess around with it though.
