Removal of Barring Buddies?

    I am going to replace the wheel berrings on my Shorlandr, How do you remove the berring buddied to get at the berrings?

    Gently tap around outside with hammer.

    Or with a big pair of channel locks you can wiggle it back and forth

    Better yet, place a block of wood between the hammer and the bearing buddy and tap it on each side. Kind of walking it off side by side.

    Plastic dead blow or a larger rubber hammer works and doesn’t scar/dent it.

    Light blows working around it seem to be the key.

    May I make a suggestion? Never replace wheel bearings with out also replacing the inner seals Fact, I replace seals more often that bearings. Greased bearings last and last. But have a bad seal and lose the grease while out on the road, and you’ll be sitting on the side of the road and that’s not cool, ever….Do it all and use a premium wheel bearing grease.
