She is Finally done! After Many, Many hours in the garage the finished product came out great. Here is the link to my previous post up to the finished paint job on the boat

    Cleaning/Paint Job

For the Interior support I built a structure out of 2×4’s and aluminum. I used 2×4’s where I needed solid support and weight and the aluminum for most cross braces. I was able to attach everything to interior elements already tied into the boat so I didnt have to drill through the hull at all.

Because of the size constraints I decided to fab in my own livewell in the old seat spot that used to be up front.

To put more weight and stability up front it was all made out of 2×4’s and attached to the structure of the boat. Each piece was then measure and cut to fit the design and boat size.

I then cut out all the hatches and seat mount holes and began to run wiring for the boat. Switches include; Bilge pump, Livewell Pump, Livewell Circulator, Interior lights, Nav Lights, and 12v plug. All other elements run into a fuse box.

The motor was cleaned and got a new paint job for a bit of an update and so it fit better with the design of the boat.

Once all that was complete each piece was wrapped with carpet and fitted into the boat

Very nicely done. It looks like a brand new boat. How long did the entire process take you?

It was standard exterior plywood but was completely sealed, sorry I dont have any pictures of the sealing process.

A very long time!! I worked on it last fall for about a month until it got to cold, then picked it up in the spring for about 5 weeks and finished it the day before opener

The boat runs great and yes it does catch fish!! I had it up on Ottertail over memorial weekend

    Super cool!

I did nearly the same thing to the same boat back when I was in high school. Talk about a fun project. I never did get to fish out of it as I was showing it to a couple friends that told a couple of their friends and the next thing I knew I had a cash offer on the table that I couldn’t refuse. Looking back I wish I had turned it down.

But I’m off track here… let us know how it fishes and handles and make sure you post a pic or two of the first fish that comes over the rails.

Ya gotta LOVE an old Lund boat. I know I do! It’s even easier to love her when she looks new.

No that is an awesome refurbish job. That should make that boat highly enjoyable.

How long and wide is it?
