Ken Griffey Jr. is and will be the best baseball player I’ll ever see. The fluid swing matched with the ability to go get the ball was something special to watch.

Jeez, remember him in the 90’s? Quick bat just launched the ball! His fearlessness to crash the wall. Speed to burn. Injuries are the only reason in my mind he isn’t the all time homerun leader.

22 years in the bigs with 630 career homeruns!

    Thank you Mr. Griffey

Imagine what his career would’ve been without all of the knee injuries. I agree that he was one of if not the best natural players in the game in our generation. He had the sweetest swing I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, I grew up watching Griffey and you could tell even in his rookie year he was something special. Sucks that he has been plagued by injuries. The guy still quietly put up huge numbers over his career. Hall of Famer all the way.

He had a great teacher The Big Red Machine His Dad. It was cool to see him and his Dad in the Outfield at the same time

Growing up around the guys from the Big Red Machine days, what a way to learn the game!! Broke in as a 18 year old.

    Griffy
    A-Rod
    Randy Johnson

Nice threesome to build a team around. They always said A-Rod forced his way out of Seattle because he would never be “the guy” as long as Jr. was around.

    Class act all the way.

I think that’s the key to understanding how good he really was. Coming into the bigs as an un-polished high-schooler, scouts knew. Even then, folks knew how special he was.

This means you never got to see Tony Oliva play before his first knee injury. His best years were very short, but none brighter.
