FL-18 vs. LX-3

I have been a faithful FL-8 owner for years and loved it. Reciently I sold my FL-8 with intentions of upgrading to the FL-18. I have used friends FL-18 and am very familiar with them. On a recient visit to Cabelas I Was turned on to the LX-3 by an associate! This unit looks to be an excellent piece of equipment and was highly recommended by them.
I need some input from fellow fishermen!!
I fish at a wide variety of depths and with buddies using Vexilars.
What do I Need to know!!

Please Help
